Collaborate with this project!

As a collaborator

Would you want to be a PlanetSim collaborator and appear your name in this site? You have to develop only a contribution and its documentation (Javadoc in source code + PDF) and send all together us to jordi.pujolarroba.gifurv.cat. After being reviewed your work, your name will appear above these lines.
All these people are already recognized collaborators:

  • March-08: Niels Sluijs (PhD-student of Ghent University) has detected a bug in planet.util.Interfaces and given the solution.
  • May-06: Monica Haladyna Braunisch has extended PlanetSim to add SHA-2 support (with Ids up to 512 bits) and building Node Ids based on IP addresses (both IPv4 and IPv6). It is the result of her Thesis in the Field of Information Technology for the Degree of Master of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies, by the Harvard University, certified by Prof. Scott Bradner. PDF. Her work (ZIP). Thanks!!

Note:

27-07-2006: New collaborations will appear at SourceForge.net->PlanetSim->Collaborations when they would come. See the [Notes] beside each collaboration title to have an overview of that work and its author/s. All these collaborations are not maintained by the PlanetSim Core Team. Nevertheless, if they are fantastic works, with absolutely elegant design and implementation, adding useful features to PlanetSim, surely they will be included in next releases.

As a developer

Would you want to become an official PlanetSim developer? It is necessary to send an email to jordi.pujolarroba.gifurv.cat with your personal information(Full name, Occupation and personal web page to put them in this wiki). Afterwards, you will be able to access to all these Trac features and you will help to improve PlanetSim!.
All they are already official PlanetSim developers:

  • August'07: Alexander Constantin
Computer Science Student at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany). QuaP2P R.G. collaborator.
  • August-07: Hao Zhang
PhD Student at School of Computer Science and Technology, HUST.
  • May-07: Max Bruchmann
Computer Science Student at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany). QuaP2P R.G. collaborator.
  • August-06: Krishna Puttaswamy
    PhD student, UCSB
  • August-06: Thommas

Where must I start from?

To start cooperating with PlanetSim, first see the current pending tasks. You can:

  • Make suggestions for solving the specified ticket in the planetsim-devel mailing list and, once we all agree with that solution, implement it. In our opinion, this is the best way to extend PlanetSim.
  • Study a ticket and try to implement it by yourself. Surely you are a machine!!

You can also submit new tickets to enhance PlanetSim and try to solve them.
